Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe

Abia South, says: I will want to say the 7th Senate was an improvement on the 6th Senate of course; and we hope that the harcourtabaribe8th Senate will also be an improvement because legislative work tends to get better as the day goes by.

The only regret we have is the fact that as it happens almost every time 70% of the senate is new and that means they will have to lean on the wisdom of the people who have been there all along.

There is one thing that happens in institutions and that is that every institution should have what is called institutional Memory and that institutional memory is not something you could define and write and keep, it is something that comes out of what is handed down from the senior to the junior members. How you comport yourself; how you do things how you present yourself to the public and how you take national interest as heart; when you come in to the Senate as an exclusive body devoted to the welfare of Nigerians.

Luckily, there are still a few of us left who will be able to present that grown-ups for those who are coming in and I will only hope that that will help us as we do legislations further for the benefit of Nigerians.
