Senate Debates Forensic Bill

Forensic application to crime prevention has received a boost today as the Senate debated a bill for an act to provide for the design, development installation and management of a robust crime and Criminal Tracking system for the Nigeria police to enhance National Security through automation of Criminal records with biometric identification information for background security checks, crime investigation, and prosecution, and counter-terrorism and for related matters 2015, standing in the name of Senator Hope Uzodinma –Imo West, just as it has provided for the rehabilitation of the insolvent debtor through the second reading of a bill for an act to repeal the Bankruptcy and insolvency Act, No. 16 of 1979 Cap B2 laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and reenact the Bankruptcy and insolvency Act to  make provision for Corporate and individual insolvency to provide for the rehabilitation of the insolvent Debtor and to create the Office of the Supervisor of insolvency; and for other matters standing the the name of Senator Barnabas Gemade-Benue North East.

Also, it heard a motion on the recent Bombs blast in Adamawa State and condemned the attackers whole urging Security Agencies to intensify hunt for perpetrators to bring them to book and sending a delegation to commiserate with the government & people of Adamawa State. The motion stood in the name of Senator Ahmadu Abubakar- Adamawa South.

Finally, the senate considered President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for special approval of Lagos State Development Policy Operation (DPO) loan (Budget support) of US&200 million from the world bank.
