Abiodun Christine Olujimi

I want to be a part of a robust senate, I want to be part of all the discussions and all the Bills, because that is the essence AbiodunChristineOlujimifor which we are all elected for us to enact laws that will be suitable for Nigeria as a country and for our constituencies as an integrated part of the society. I want also to look at female representation and gender inequality; it has been an issue that has been on the front burner for too long, but nothing concrete has been achieved, so doing, I believe that with the new vibrancy we are going to put into the senate we are going to do something about it.

I also want to look at a situation where we can amend the Electoral laws so people don’t keep cross carpeting, heating up the polity before and immediately after elections. We need to sanitize the democratic system in such a way that ideology must be the watch word.

If you align with a particular party you remain in that partly till the end and if you need to step aside, it is not between elections because it destabilizes. I want to look into it with my Colleagues and see what we can do immediately, so that it can impact positively on the next elections.

I will also want to look at some of the laws guiding education and health but for that I will need to get into the senate, look at what obtains now and all the laws that had been since I left the House of Representatives so we will be able to seat together and see how we can frame them up.’
